Christophe Ghénassia

Christophe GHENASSIA offers a 360-degree view of the business world, having held positions as Partner (Squair), General Counsel and Group Data Protection Officer (DPO) in listed and mid-sized companies for 25 years. He has developed his business with service providers, banks, telephone network and cell phone operators, providers of minute sales, digital service providers and e-commerce solutions along with software package services for banks, pharmaceuticals, and industries.

His background in business law and international affairs has led him to monitor Board of Directors and AGM meetings, prepare audit committees, lead company recapitalizations and sales, and manage teams. He has also contributed his expertise to the monitoring of litigation and disputes, notably in the telecoms sector.

He has been involved in transitional assignments as Group DPO for 130 companies, notably for a group specializing in financial software, and for a service operator with sales of over 30 billion euros. He has implemented a personal data processing strategy in a number of companies.

He brings his expertise in Compliance, including RGPD regulations and regulations applicable to whistleblowers, drafting complex contracts, IT and Corporate.

He has developed a consultancy business to anticipate compliance risks, ensure better compliance and anticipate risks for ETIs.

He heads the M2 "Compliance, Risk Anticipation and Internal Control" program at the Institut Supérieur du Droit (ISD). He also teaches in the same institute's M1 "E-Commerce and Platform Law" and LLM "Digital law, E-Commerce and Data Protection" programs. At the same time, he lectures in DUs on the application of RGPD and Compliance.

He was sworn in on September 8, 2004.

He holds a master’s degree in public law from the University of Lyon III, and a Postgraduate diploma in Defense and International Security from the Universities of Lyon III-Grenoble. He is also a graduate of the “Institutes d'Etudes Politiques” de Lyon II and of the Specialized master’s degree in international business law and management at ESCP Europe in Paris, holding Master's degrees 1 and 2 in Social Sciences from the Universities of Paris Cité, Sorbonne and Descartes.

He works in French and English.
